The Castrensian Amphitheatre in the south of east of Rome on the Caelian Hill was most likely built to host separate games for soldiers. Yet this is unclear. The view offered here shows clearly how the theatre was incorporated into the Aurelian all, the arches beyond the wall having been filled in.
